Tiger nuts (also known as chufas in Spain or Erdmantel in Germany) are a new and exciting root crop.
* If you have trouble with placing an order or payment, please contact us! *
They are very easy to grow, and tolerate neglect, drought and poor soils, and after a growing season, produce a mass of small almond-flavored tubers. Tiger nuts can be easily grown in containers too.
To sprout the tubers, soak them overnight (change the water a few times to break their dormancy) and plant them when temperature is above 20˚C. They grow best in warm climates, but also grow fine in mild climates.
From one tuber, you can harvest many tubers at the end of one growing season, and start many new plants.
